Join us for an opportunity to explore womens' role in leadership within international education. This event aims to foster connections, share invaluable insights, and inspire future leaders in this vital field. This event will provide a unique opportunity to learn from the insight of accomplished women with diverse professional experiences.
Meet the Presenters:
Bailey Kepford is a Marketing Manager at CIEE, the Council on International Educational Exchange. Bailey has worked in the international education and non-profit industries, including at ISEP. During her time in the field, Bailey has presented at multiple regional and national NAFSA conferences and has served on The Forum on Education Abroad working group entitled, “Learning from HBCUs, TCUs, MSIs, and Community Colleges about Education Abroad.”
Simone Douglas received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from North Carolina A&T SU in 2020. In the fall of 2018, she had a transformative experience studying Materials Engineering abroad in Ghana, which instilled in her a deep sense of empathy, kindness, and humility. Following this, she interned at Google the following summer, further honing her skills and expanding her horizons.
Simone is currently a program manager at Microsoft, where she brings her expertise and passion to her role. Committed to giving back, she actively volunteers as a mentor for current students and new hires, advocating for the invaluable benefits of study abroad experiences and STEM careers for minorities.
Gretchen Dobson is a global engagement strategist, author and academic with 30 years’ experience across six continents. She serves as Associate Director, Scholarships, for Tetra Tech International Development. She has served as a member of ISEP’s Board of Directors since 2022.
Dr. Rajika Bhandari is a scholar-practitioner in international higher education, author of the award-winning book, America Calling: A Foreign Student in a Country of Possibility, and the host of the World Wise podcast on education, culture and migration. She is the Principal of Rajika Bhandari Advisors, an international education research and strategy firm through which she provides guidance to universities, nonprofits and governments around the world. A product of international education herself, she received her postsecondary degrees in India and the U.S.
